Two Weeks In: Where Am I Now?
Just two weeks after my epiphany, the realization that exchanging time for money is no longer worth it has transformed my journey. So, where am I today? Let’s dive in and explore the twists and turns.
Exploring ClickBank and Top Offers
I began my journey by signing up with ClickBank, scoping out the “top offers” with some rigorous due diligence (DD). My DD process was streamlined and efficient. I created a GPT model to research products, covering reviews, target audiences, competition, and more. This method is basic yet significantly more efficient than the endless Google rabbit hole.
The Java Burn Discovery
The standout offer on my radar was “Java Burn,” a coffee supplement claiming to promote weight loss. The weight loss market is colossal, and who doesn’t want to shed a few pounds? It seemed like a goldmine. However, after my DD, the offer seemed suspicious. Losing weight by drinking coffee? It sounds great, but my instincts raised red flags. Negative reviews on Amazon confirmed my doubts.
Facing the Competition
Despite these reservations, I considered Java Burn for my first affiliate marketing attempt. A quick Google search revealed numerous paid results from other affiliate marketers. “Is this my competition?” I chuckled. I knew I could build pages that would crush this competition. But then came the deal-breaker.
The Deal-Breaker
I copied the Java Burn affiliate agreement into ChatGPT for a summary. The biggest takeaway? “You cannot run Google ads.” I contacted the rep to clarify, and their reply sealed the deal: “Advertising Java Burn on Google is strictly prohibited, and affiliates caught doing so are subject to having their accounts permanently banned without notice. The advertisers you see are already banned or about to be. Their hoplinks don’t work, and they’re running ads for nothing. No exceptions.”
A Reality Check
This was a stark reality check. My journey wouldn’t be as simple as picking a top offer, creating a Google ads campaign, building a great landing page, and getting rich. What a bummer. But maybe the offer, or even ClickBank in general, isn’t for me. Promoting fishy offers in shady ways isn’t sustainable.
A Valuable Lesson Learned
This experience taught me a crucial lesson. If I’m going to succeed, I need to stand behind the offers, products, and companies I promote. Would I recommend them to friends or family? If not, it’s not worth pursuing. I need to fully commit to what I’m promoting. Otherwise, it’ll always be about the money, and I don’t want that. I want to sleep easy at night, not worrying about negative comments on my paid Facebook posts.
Moving Forward
So, I’m taking my time to explore offers I genuinely like. To sum it up, I’m pursuing offers I would recommend to friends or family. If I’m in, I’m all in. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited about what lies ahead. If you want to join me on this journey, now’s the time. Let’s find and promote what truly matters.
